About Artist

Abdurrahman Depeler was born in Konya in 1982. Encouraged by his grandfather, the late calligrapher Abdullah Rıza, he started taking lessons from calligraphy master Hüseyin Öksüz in 1999. He graduated from the Selçuklu İmam Hatip High School in 2000. He obtained a bachelor’s degree from Selçuk University’s calligraphy department at the Faculty of Fine Arts in 2005. He completed his master’s degree at the same university’s department of sociology in 2009. He has been benefiting from the experiences of calligraphers such as Davud Bektaş, Mehmed Özçay and Osman Özçay since 2005. He is still receiving ta’liq lessons from Hüseyin Öksüz.
