Born in 1968 in Erzurum, Ömer Faruk

Özoğul is a graduate of Atatürk University,

Department of Fine Arts. In 2000, he

began to study thuluth-naskh with Davut

Bektaş and received a certificate from

him at a ceremony held in IRCICA in

2005. He participated in the restoration of

calligraphies decorating the interior walls

of Süleymaniye Mosque. Özoğul has won

awards in various calligraphy competitions.

Currently he works as an art teacher at the

Sabanci Institute of Maturation.
