He was born as the son of the scribe of the Selimiye Mosque Waqf in Edirne, Mehmed Emîn, in 1145 AH (1732-1733 AD) . He studied thuluth and naskh scripts under the renowned calligrapher of Edirne, Yesârîzâde İsmail Efendi, and received his ijazah at the age of nineteen in 1164 AH (1751 AD). After completing his education, he moved to Istanbul, where he engaged in various scribal services. Later, he entered the service of the chief admiral Gazi Hasan Pasha of Algeria and served as his divan officer for a long period. After the Pasha's death, he continued in various state services until he retired due to age. He passed away on 18 Safar 1222 AH (27 April 1807 AD).
